Crazy World features an ensemble cast of 6 main characters: Joe, Ian, Mia, Sam, Chad, and Nico, along with a supporting cast of many recurring characters.

Joe Logmier
The Peacekeeper
Voiced by Malik Crawford Randall
Like most people, you probably just pronounced Joe’s last name incorrectly. It’s pronounced “Low-meer”. But that’s ok. He’s not mad. That’s the kind of guy he is: easygoing, roll-with-the-punches, open-minded and always trying to keep the peace.
Backstory
To everyone else, Joe always has the answers. Maybe it’s because of his deeper voice, matter-of-fact tone, even keeled attitude, or because he always thinks long term. He knows what he wants in his future, and, now in his 30’s, he’s on the safe path to achieving it. He’s the one with his life pulled together: He met his girlfriend, Mia, when he first started college, and he’s had the same great job since he graduated. He comes from a very large, close, and supportive family whose members have lived through practically every disease.
Always willing to lend a hand, an ear, or the shirt off his back, Joe’s kindness and generosity often makes him feel as though he’s carrying the world on his shoulders. Would his life be easier if he were a selfish, heartless jerk? Maybe so … but he could never put himself before others.
Occupation
Project Manager at Major General Contracting

Ian Martin
The Helper
Voiced by Aaron Sinn
Ian would excel at anything he sets his mind to, but he struggles to make up his mind. His vast talents allow him to help people from all walks of life, and his energetic, charismatic attitude adds to his magnetic personality. If only he could attract the right job … or the right partner.
Backstory
Ian met Joe in kindergarten and they became instant friends. Ian’s childhood was full of imagination, love, and empathy – something he does not take for granted. In fact, he tries to spread that positivity each and every day.
His first girlfriend was quite the opposite. What started out as a promising venture into the world of long-term relationships slowly turned sour over the course of nine years. Some would say Ian and Hellen were the hot item back in college, but as the years went on, she took more and more from him: his time, his energy, and most importantly, his happiness. One day shortly after turning 30, it hit him – she was toxic, he couldn’t fix her, and he needed her out of his life. He packed up what little belongings she let him have in their apartment, used all of his courage to break up with her, and crashed at Joe and Mia’s apartment that night … and the night after that …
Occupation
Ian has worked various jobs and has gained many certifications. His longest stint was as a paramedic for the first 4 years after college. He doesn’t change jobs due to a lack of skill set – in fact, he excels in each position. He leaves a job when he feels as though he has done all he can for the company. He will start each season at a new place of employment (see list to the left) and end the season by leaving the company in a better state than when he was hired.

Mia
The Social Butterfly
Voiced by Michelle Falanga
Mia lives for action, adventure, and great drinks. Having established herself as a top entrepreneur in Boston and featured in many “30 Under 30” articles, Mia has to make room on her shelf for new awards. As a photographer, she thrives on capturing the accomplishments and happy moments of others.
Her adult life has been the exact opposite of her childhood and she likes to keep it that way.
Backstory
Mia was adopted and never knew her biological parents. She met Joe in college when he was looking for headshots to be done. On their first date, they both split an appetizer not realizing that the other person also wanted a full meal. They both went home and emptied their fridges and cabinets for food. Mia and Joe have been together since that day, and she loves being a part of Joe’s family and friends circle.
Mia has heard the tales of Joe and Ian’s childhood adventures, but Ian was always too preoccupied by his girlfriend to be around. With him back in the picture, Mia can witness new adventures and be a part of them, sometimes willingly and sometimes just because she was standing too close and wound up sucked into their antics.
Occupation
Freelance Photographer

Sam McCall
The Rock
Voiced by Abi McKenzie
Sam is always there for others, and never there for herself. She wonders if she cares too much and swears that “life must be so much easier if you’re an ignorant asshole.” That’s why she’s an elementary school teacher; kids are still full of hope and optimism. Sam has resigned to the fact that she needs to do everything on her own. In the battle of life, her weapons of choice are sarcasm and brutal honesty.
Backstory
Sam is the oldest of three daughters. She developed cancer when she was very young, and it took everything her parents had to get her the treatments she needed. Though Sam survived, her parents’ marriage fell apart a few years later. Deep down, Sam internalized that her disease was the root of her family’s troubles, and she made it her duty to give back as much as she could.
Wise beyond her years, Sam became the family “problem solver.” She remedied her subsequent headaches with brownies, steamy baths, or corny broadcast TV holiday movies because they depicted the life she always wanted.
When she hit 30, Sam had cancer again and got a hysterectomy, but all her family could think about is how it affected them. Once she was fully recovered, she moved across the country, got a new teaching job, and moved into the most normal apartment complex she could find: Higgins Farm Apartments.
Occupation
Sam is a 5th grade teacher. She entered the field with the hopes of influencing the younger generation. Little did she know that she would have to do a lot of parental influencing in order to obtain basic school supplies.

Chad Platero
The Nostalgic
Voiced by Jonathan Gary
Chad is an introvert. That doesn’t mean he’s shy and lacking in social skills – rather, he values meaningful connections with a select number of friends and his oasis of an apartment where he can recharge. Though he may not be the first to speak at a party, he excels at listening, observing, and thoughtful conversation. He dresses stylishly with a pre-2000s vibe, enjoys older forms of entertainment, is soft spoken, and appreciates the simple things in life.
Backstory
Chad met Ian in freshman year of college. They continued their friendship beyond the classroom, leading to some enjoyable dinner outings and game nights with Joe and Mia. Chad grew fond of Ian’s friends, especially since they respected his “social battery.” In time, he considered Joe and Mia to be part of his closest friends.
Then, Ian introduced his new girlfriend, Hellen, to Chad as a carefree and fun-loving spirit. Chad tried to be kind to her at first, but she would either ignore him, or only invite him to do things that were out of his comfort zone. When he declined her invitations, she would respond with snide comments like, “You’re no fun.” Chad confided in Joe and Mia, who also secretly felt the same way about Hellen.
After college, Ian moved in with Hellen closer to the city, and Joe and Mia began renting an apartment at Higgins Farm in Chad’s hometown. Chad thought about his friends’ new chapter in life, and considered his own circumstances. He came to the conclusion that his small bedroom at his parents’ place was no longer serving him. Chad desired space and more privacy, so he moved into the same apartment complex as Joe and Mia.
Occupation
Remote web developer for a video game company

Nico Jensen
The Workaholic
Voiced by Anthony Tupasi
Based on announcers from single-sponsored old time radio shows, Joe, Mia, and Ian’s neighbor down the hall, Nico Jensen, is a salesman through and through. He never misses an opportunity to relentlessly pitch his beloved product: AZTEC energy drinks. No matter the place or topic of conversation, Nico can cleverly weave an advertisement into every situation.
Backstory
Nico talks about AZTEC so much that the characters don’t really know much about him other than the fact that he’s in his 40’s, and has an accent. Maybe he’ll reveal more about himself in time!
Occupation
Sales representative for AZTEC energy drinks
Recurring Characters
Hellen Ferguson
Voiced by Sarah Austin
Hellen is a glorious, beautiful, fragrant bouquet of negative human traits wrapped in an overly friendly, high pitched voice. What started as a promising long-term relationship with Ian back in college, slowly turned sour over nine years. She appears in each episode as a PTSD flashback of Ian’s … and will make one in-person appearance later in the series.
Backstory
Hellen was brought up in a household of women. She is the oldest of four sisters with a different father than her siblings. Her mother was preoccupied with dating and didn’t pay as much attention to her children in their formative years. When she did interact with her kids, she tried to be the “carefree friend,” rather than a parent. Hellen learned early on that she could get away with anything.
She fell in love with Ian during college not only due to his looks and amiable personality, but his career ambitions showed great promise – monetarily. Plus, she enjoyed telling her friends that she was dating a man in a uniform.
Four years after college, Ian hopped jobs – something Hellen did NOT have patience for. Rather than talking to him to find out why he felt the need to upend his career trajectory in his 30’s, she tried to steer him in the right direction, which ultimately steered him away.
Occupation
Psychologist
Dottie & Lloyd Miller
Voiced by Debra Frederickson & Dave Playe
Dottie and Lloyd Miller are the co-owners of Higgins Farm Apartments. Dottie is the bubbly, extroverted heart and soul of the apartment complex. As the Director of Activities, she hosts weekly Activity Nights and other annual events that are extremely popular with the residents.
Her husband, raspy-voiced Lloyd, may not be as bubbly, but for what he lacks in extroversion, he makes up for in knowledge of general maintenance.
Backstory
Dottie and Llyod have lived an adventure-filled life. When they were young, they made the decision to forgo having children in favor of traveling the country and meeting people along the way. For all the connections they made, they never stayed at a place long enough to take root.
Going into their retirement years, Lloyd was ready to settle down, but Dottie was still as chipper as ever. They decided it was an opportune time to make Dottie’s dream a reality: To move to Massachusetts and open a quintessential New England apartment complex. Within a few short years, Higgins Farm Apartments was born.
Occupation
Co-Owners at Higgins Farm Apartments. Dottie is the Director of Activities, and Llyod focuses on Maintenance.
Bernard
Voiced by John Bell
Bernard is Joe, Mia, and Ian’s neighbor next door at Higgins Farm Apartments. He’s in his mid 40s, works at a technology firm, and has a booming, smooth, deep voice and a catchy laugh that can be heard through the walls. He’s a very interesting guy – online. Some would even call him an internet celebrity. But in the real world, he’s glued to his cell phone. His phone serves as his connection to society, his self worth, and his escape.
Ms. X
Ms. X is a thin-framed, thin-lipped woman in her 60’s who has lived in the house that abuts Higgins Farm for her entire life. She is adamant the apartment complex brought down the value of her home and has no patience for the lights, the noise, or Dottie. She talks down to people through her nose and acts as though everyone else is incompetent. The main characters don’t know much about Ms. X – they don’t even know her name. What they do know about her they learn through chance encounters and spying out their windows.
Mr. Smithe
Voiced by Jake von Slatt
Mr. Smithe is Joe, Mia, and Ian’s British neighbor across the hall at Higgins Farm Apartments. He’s in his mid 50’s, introduced himself as Mr. Smithe when he moved in, is personable and upbeat, but he never reveals anything personal. There are always strange noises coming out of his apartment, and he’s often seen carrying odd objects into and out of the building. When someone’s in a bind, he has a homemade invention on-hand to help out.
Davis Huber
Davis is a non-speaking, unseen character who lives a vibrant life through “off-screen” interactions. He is a beloved employee at Major General Contracting, a family man, and an overall good egg. He often spends his time volunteering at animal shelters, elderly events, school sports, community beautification projects, or scouting. He doesn’t do all of this volunteer work to stand out. He prefers to blend right in and make a difference in this world – one office donation box at a time.
Michael Martin
As a kid, Ian idolized his Uncle Mike. A carefree fellow who never settled down and loves to learn about other cultures, Uncle Mike has lived in several countries and every state in the US, except for Rhode Island. Now in his 50’s, he’s full of stories about obscure events and off-the-beaten path festivals. He has a wide range of interests and an eclectic array of talents. He’s very similar to Ian, just with a deeper, more gravelly voice. Uncle Mike shows up at the apartment once per season in costume, full of energy, and ready to take Joe and Ian on an adventure.
The Major General
Voiced by Derek Seidensticker
Major General Contracting would be nothing without the Major General, the man who started it all. Tough and no-nonsense, but occasionally blurting out some dry humor (that usually only he laughs at), the Major General takes care of his employees like he took care of his men in battle. Now in his mid-50’s, he takes pride in his clean bill of health and is still as sharp as a tack. He maintains a military style haircut and has a loud, stern, deep voice that sounds like his neck is too thick for his body.
Rolando
Rolando is somehow the only waiter any of the main characters ever get served from at Salou. He’s in his mid-30’s and has a Spanish accent. Though he does come out with some clever, blunt, sarcastic comments, he is completely devoted to his job and is one of the hardest working employees around.
